ICFAI Business School, The ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education

The ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education (IFHE) is a deemed-to-be-University with faculties in management, science & technology and law. IFHE has evolved a comprehensive student-centric learning approach consisting of several stages, designed to add significant value to the learner's understanding in an integrated manner,

covering relevant knowledge, practical skills and positive attitudes. IFHE has a large and well qualified faculty pool comprising of mostly doctorates with rich industry experience. The faculty members are involved in research, case development and industry consultancy. IFHE campus at Hyderabad is a 91-acre lush green campus with built-up area of over 16 lakh sq. ft. The campus is fully residential, Wi-Fi enabled and equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. Hostel facilities are available to students. A wide range of indoor and outdoor games facilities are available.

The ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education is accredited by NAAC with A+ grade and granted autonomy by the UGC.

ICFAI Business School (IBS), established in 1985, is one of the consistently top ranked business schools in India. The school has been re-accredited by South Asian Quality Assurance System (SAQS), rated A** by CRISIL, EB2 IN by ICRA and as an Excellent Business School by EdUniversal.The School is ranked number 22 among the management institutions in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework 2018 of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The programs offered at IBS include PhD, MBA and BBA. The MBA program is one of the largest in Asia with a student intake of around 1,200 per annum. In addition, 1,000 students are pursuing the BBA program and over 60 scholars the Ph.D. program. IBS has entered into MoUs with fifteen institutions in USA, UK, Australia, and Malaysia, which enable Ph.D. students engage in 9-month Visiting Scholar Program abroad. In addition to the full-time Ph.D. program, IBS offers a part-time Ph.D. program that facilitates working executives achieve their doctoral aspirations. IBS faculty members have published around 400 research papers in reputed International and National journals. Case Research Centre of IBS develops on an average over 100 business cases per year. These cases are used all around the world for teaching, in textbooks and industry.

School of Management Studies, University of Hyderabad

University of Hyderabad (UoH), one of the major institutions of higher education in India, is largely devoted to postgraduate studies and is widely known for its excellence in research and for its distinguished faculty. Founded in 1974, UoH, also known as Hyderabad Central University or HCU, has emerged as a leading centre of teaching and research.

With over 40 different Departments and Centres organized in 12 Schools of study, the University has more than 450 faculty and over 7,500 students. The University offers about 150 different programs of study ranging from doctoral studies to Masters level degrees. UoH offers a range of post graduate diplomas and short term courses through Distance mode. It also has a thriving Five year Integrated Masters Program. The University hosts an ever increasing number of foreign scholars in the highly popular Study in India Program. The University has built a reputation for providing high quality academic training, and has been recognized through a number of awards- PURSE, UPEetc. Very recently UoH have been ranked number five among the Universities in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework 2016 of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

The faculty of the University have a high national and international profile and have been recipients of major national and international awards- the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar prize of the CSIR, the Ramon Magsaysay Award, the J. C. Bose Fellowship of the DST, the Humboldt Prize, the TWAS Awards, the British Council, Commonwealth and Fulbright awards, and the Padma Awards of the Government of India. Several of faculty members are fellows or associate fellows of major national and international Academies - the Indian National Science Academy (INSA), the Indian Academy of Sciences (IASc), the National Academy of Sciences of India (NASI), the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE), the Sahitya Akademi, and the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World (TWAS).

UoH has been ranked among the top universities in India for the year 2015-16 by India Today, The Week and Careers 360 (Outlook Group). In January 2015, UoH has been declared the Best Central University in India by the Hon'ble President of India. Recently, the QS World Rankings has given Global recognition for the UoH as an institution best among the World to study English Language & Literature, Chemistry and Physics. Today the UoH is among the Top 25 virtually active institutions among all Private, State, central Universities as well as technical institutes of the country.

The School of Management Studies (SMS) commenced functioning from May, 1999. It offers three MBA, MBA (HC&HM) and MBA (Business Analytics) along with a Ph.D. program in Management Studies. It promotes faculty and doctoral research, consultancy, training, and outreach activities in various manufacturing, corporate, infrastructural, services and developmental sectors. Its faculty organizes on-campus seminars, and actively participates in external seminars, executive and faculty development and PG programs. The broad vision of the School is to strive to achieve excellence in management education, research, training and consultancy.

Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia


Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia (AMDISA), the only Association that networks management education and management development institutions in South Asia, is recognized by South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) and has 256 members from the region. Its mission is to "promote management education and management development activities in South Asia, taking into account the economic, social and cultural context of the Region, with the firm dedication to world-wide exchange of experience and ideas in the fields concerned." AMDISA facilitates exchanging information, inter-country research initiatives, regional conferences, workshops, colloquia and programs in the eight South Asian Nations and provides a forum for interaction among academics and business leaders.

AMDISA launched the global benchmark quality assurance and accreditation system for Business Schools viz., South Asian Quality Assurance System (SAQS) as a service to the management education profession worldwide. SAQS emerged in an EFMD-AMDISA cooperation through a European Union funded Asia-Link project in 2003-04. It is inspired by EFMD's EQUIS criteria guidelines and is designed as an international accreditation system. It is a globally benchmarked system for mentoring, quality improvement, quality assurance and accreditation. SAQS quality label is recognition to the institution's commitment to quality and quality assurance through continuous improvement.

AMDISA publishes the South Asian Journal of Management quarterly in response to the global needs to know about the current research and practice in the field of management in South Asia. It is a prestigious publication and is indexed by two internationally acclaimed database services, EBSCO and ProQuest and is included in the journal ratings by ERA Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA), Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC) and Cabell's Directory. It is also an UGC, India approved journal (List Ref. No. 46492).
